Disclaimer: These Pages are my opinions. I offer them as a reference
for you to discover new places and things that you may not otherwise
discover. I am not paid to write these things, so I am as honest as I can
possibly be. The only bias you will get from me is: I love food in a variety.
I have recently converted to vegetarianism and will obviously be talking
Vegetarian Menus but will have feed back provided by friend and relatives who
are not vegetarian on other menu items. I will provide as much information as possible. Definitely feel free to let me know of places that I
haven’t mentioned so that I can check them out! |

Pub The Half Barrel
|
The Half Barrel is something out of the ordinary. One can eat healthy and yet get themselves plastered at the same time. The drinks (Mixed) are by far the best value in town! The menu has all your Pub Favorites like loaded cheese fries and wings, but I always look beyond the tired old stuff we can get about anywhere (However; the Wings are top notch). On the Veggie side of things: Red Beans and Rice: Cajun Style! Spicy Hot and delicious. An Excellent value. If you need the meat, they will throw I the sausage for extra $Cha Ching$! Hummus: Portions to share with a friend or just gorge yourself. The blend is perfect! Lately, it is coming out nicely arranged letting us forget we are in a pub! The Veggie Rap: This is a Wrap that consists of the Hummus with Cucumber, lettuce and I imagine anything else on request. Filling with a side included. 2008 |

Tex-Mex The Sun Spot
|
I have only had a Black Bean Chimichaunga here and it was delicious. Spicy, but delicious. Friend I have eaten there with had other items that looked good but I need to get back in there and try more stuff. They serve chips and Queso when you are first seated as does most Mexican restaurants, but their chips are seasoned and that add to the experience. Orion’s Belt-Blackened Tofu Sandwich made to your liking. Very Good! 2008 |

The Biggest, Best tasting Greek salad in town. They play no games and go ahead and use a dinner plates. Heaped with Boiled eggs, Olives and Feta Cheese this thing will feed 2 easily, maybe 3. Also, Look for the Egyptian sampler so you can get a taste of some other of their best choices. The hummus is fantastic!. They also serve Burger, sandwiches and Gyros. You will be hard pressed to find friendlier service! 2008 |

When it comes to Mexican food, this is who I think of first. They are generous with the mixed drinks and they have some vegetarian items available (not vegan). Let me know when you are headed that way and we’ll have dinner! 2008 |

Ali Baba’s has been around for many years in The Vol Burger is one of the best burger’s in town and the ‘steak in a sack’ is another good choice for the carnivore in you. Pizza and Deli The Red Onion
|
If you aren’t looking for it, this place is easily missed.
It is just before They have a full menu but this is another place that says Pizza to me. And the Pizza is a Big Contender! The topping variety is one of the largest I have seen. I stick to the basics, cheese, or Pepperoni (Before Vegetarianism)! They have excellent cheese sticks. When in the 2008 |

Home Cooking and More 5005 Kingston Pike |
I had driven by and commented on the name ‘Big Fatty’s’ a number of times with out acknowledging what it was. Then on a weekend ride I realized that this was a restaurant serving classic items like Pot Roast, Chicken and Dumplings and Meat loaf and made note to check them out. Carnivores, Omnivores and all out Vegetarians have ample choice (Click on the Link to the left for a full menu). So here are the things I have tried: The Veggie Red Beans and Rice (as a side) – A heaping coffee mug full. Traditional, not to spicy The Black Bean Burger – Possibly the tastiest most filling thing I have had since I started the path to vegetarianism. I had it topped with pickle, spinach Maria, onion and Pepper Cheese. Side Salad (Honey Dijon Dressing) The dressing was top notch, and the salad was a good mix. Broccoli Casserole – Excellent blend of flavors! Banana Pudding – This is the nectar of the god’s! First and foremost, the portion was generous (Crystal and I shared it). I don’t know what all was in it but it a top contender in the battle of Banana Pudding! Crystal’s Choices (It is her thoughts from here): Grilled Cheese Chili – 2008 |

a side of black beans. This truly satisfied my hunger. They have a full menu of other
authentic Cuban Dishes. 2008 |

just the tip of the Ice Berge. If you eat no where else in Other Information: Coca Cola on

Pizza and
Deli Harby’s Pizza and Deli (865) 688-5657 |
You say you like pizza yet you haven’t experienced pizza until you have tried Harby’s Pizza. This is a place that isn’t afraid to give you some ingredients: Plenty of Cheese and anything else you want on it. Before converting to Vegetarianism, I would get the Meat Lover’s and it would be loaded. Now my favorite would have to be Onion and Green Pepper only but I will settle for plain cheese. The menu doesn’t stop at pizza. They have a variety of sandwiches and salads and hummus. I have never eaten anything but the pizza and he has the monopoly on my taste buds. Harby’s currently doesn’t have a web site but you can always stop by. They’re fast so unless it is to go, no need to call ahead.
